According to Tiny House Association, there are a good 75,000 people in Germany who are interested in this form of living. Specifically, living in the Tiny House means: life takes place permanently on an area of a maximum of 50 square meters, the mini houses are minimalistic and functional, some even have bikes. On average, apartments in Germany in 2023 were a good 92 square meters. Single -family houses are much larger.
Before Elke moved to her Tiny House in the green, she lived in a two -room apartment in the middle of Freiburg. Your new house consists of only one room: an open living area with kitchenette and dining area. A sliding door separates a small bathroom. There is also a retracted level. Here is a mattress on which she sleeps. Every inch is well thought out into the last detail: the stairs to the sleeping area also serve as a dishwash and when visiting overnight stays, there is a small level for the guests above the bathroom, which can be reached via a ladder. Despite the low living space – her Tiny House is less than three meters wide – Elke misses nothing. Nevertheless: With her move a year ago, she had to part with some things, for example from 1,500 books. For this, she now lives in the Tiny House, minimalist and sustainable – this is how her personal dream of living looks.
