Climate protection is becoming increasingly important in the international partnerships of German metropolises. Three examples show how diverse the use of more climate silence in the municipalities is.
Bonn and La Paz
Cooperation on climate protection, environmental awareness and sustainable development has been the focus of the city twinning established in 2002. For example, Bonn works with the Bolivian capital in the “Resilient City” initiative, with which La Paz is to be better prepared for the consequences of climate change. This happens, among other things, with a wide -ranging training program for decision -makers in the city administration. In addition to the training, concrete measures are implemented, such as the introduction of a recycling system for paper and plastic in administration, schools and other educational institutions. Bonn also supports La Paz in using e-cars for his outpatient health services.
